Scopa is the the Owner/founder of Legacy debate! Scopa debated for Pembroke Pines Charter, and graduated in 2017. As a debater, he Championed Crestian, reached finals at blue key and FL states, placed 9th at nationals his Junior year, and reached several bid rounds. He currently coaches several debaters independently, as well as coaching for American Heritage Plantation. As a coach, his students have championed 20 tournaments, including Crestian (and RR) twice, Blue Key (and RR), Valley, and Sunvite, and his students have recorded 36 bids and 71 bid rounds. He recently graduated with a BA in Philosophy and Religion at Florida State. His main debate interests include strategy, framework, and high theory. He also is a specialist in lay debate.
Lulu debated at the woodlands high school for 3 years and got 2 bids her senior year. She will be studying engineering at texas A&M. Her debate interests were mostly policy stuff until senior year when she did a little bit of philosophy, theory, and one kritik. She’s excited to teach at Legacy and meet and learn from new people in debate!

Charles Karcher debated for Sarasota High School (FL) and graduated in 2018. He currently attends the University of Florida, where he studies English and International Relations. As a lone-wolf competitor, he reached late elimination rounds at tournaments including the Sunvitational, Blue Key, and Holy Cross. Since graduating, Charles has worked as a lab leader at several sessions of debate camps over the past summers and has coached Policy and LD for several programs including Oak Hall, Cypress Bay, and West Des Moines Valley. His debate interests include policy arguments, critical theory, and promoting small-school debate. Beyond coaching, Charles is the returning director of the quarterfinal-bid Lincoln-Douglas division of the Florida Blue Key tournament. Outside of debate, Charles is involved with several undergraduate research projects at UF and loves cooking.
Megan debated for Interlake for four years and served as team President her senior year. As a senior, she received invitations to multiple round robins and qualified to the TOC. She has coached Hunter College High School’s debate team to 6 bids and 2 TOC qualifications over the past year, in addition to teaching at 3 camps as a first year

She has coached Hunter College High School’s debate team to 6 bids and 2 TOC qualifications over the past year, in addition to teaching at 3 camps as a first year out. Her debate interests include philosophy of all kinds, topicality, and increasing access to debate for small-school debaters. She now attends Swarthmore College, where she studies philosophy and mathematics.
Perry debated for American Heritage for 4 years. During this time he reached late elimination rounds at numerous national tournaments and received 5 bids to the tournament of champions. This year he has won the Valley Mid America Cup and Blue Key tournaments. He also was top speaker at Harvard, a finalist at the Harvard and Blue Key round

This year he has won the Valley Mid America Cup and Blue Key tournaments. He also was top speaker at Harvard, a finalist at the Harvard and Blue Key round robins, and was a semifinalist at the TOC, LHP RR, Harvard, and Yale. Perry has coached novices at American Heritage for 3 years and is very excited to work at the Legacy Debate Camp this summer. His interests in debate include Tricks, Moral Philosophy, and Theory. Outside of debate he enjoys playing video games, soccer, and birds.

His debate interests include analytical philosophy, (one) critical theory, theory, and the occasional trick! Outside of debate, he enjoys playing soccer, reading, and watching Bollywood movies.

Her senior year, she has earned various speaker awards, including 4th at Yale, 6th at Princeton, top at Isidore Newman, and more. She broke and won elimination round at almost every bid tournament she went to this year and bid at Scarsdale. Her debate interests include high theory Ks, including Baudrillard, Deleuze, Kristeva/Lacan, etc. As well as identity politics Ks surrounding Asian American Feminism. Outside of debate, she enjoys collecting stuffed animals and give them interesting names. She also loves to bullet journal, paint, and draw.

He made it to semifinals at Glenbrooks, Yale, and UT, quarterfinals of Blake, Lexington, and Emory, finals and top speaker of the Blue Key RR, and co-championed the Harvard RR as the top speaker. Srey's debate interests were multifaceted but focused on theory/topicality, policy arguments, tricks, and some kritiks. Outside of debate, Srey likes to code and play videogames, and he's excited to teach at legacy!

During the year, she mentored for W.in Debate (where she is Midwest Regional Coordinator) and PepTalk Debate. Jalyn’s primary debate interests include philosophy, identity-based kritiks, and theory.
