At Legacy Debate, our foremost goal is to be the best educators, mentors, and coaches that we can possibly be. This ensures that students not only learn everything necessary for competitive success but also enjoy the process of doing so.

Legacy is a community oriented business - our staff comes from a diversity of backgrounds, circumstances, and levels of resource access. Throughout their time in debate, they have worked tirelessly as both debaters and coaches to ensure success. We understand the dedication it takes to achieve your potential in this activity and we are committed to being the ultimate resource for all of your coaching needs. 

Beyond our valuation of passion and commitment to the activity broadly, our staff members have been highly successful in a variety of styles and circuits. As such, we can assuredly provide assistance in any area or style of debate that you or your child might be interested in. Regardless of where you compete - whether that be at a Florida local or a national bid tournament in California, we can provide you with the skills necessary to succeed in your competitive career. 

In terms of circuit debate, we are highly qualified in any area you may be interested, as our staff is well versed in policy arguments, critical literature, moral philosophy, theoretical arguments, and general strategy. Our staff members also have extensive experience navigating local and state circuits, where styles tend to be more traditional.

While academic success is obviously one of our main focuses, we realize debate is about more than trophies and tournament records. Debate is a community, and we wouldn't still be in the activity without the amazing students, coaches, and opportunities debate has to offer. 

Our pedagogical approach is unique. Throughout the past few seasons, we've coached a number of students, most of who hailed from smaller (or, in some cases, non-existent) programs. As small school debaters ourselves, we understand the way that resource disparities often prefigure the ways in which many debaters are (un)able to engage in the debate community. We  believe that debate should be accessible to every student across the country, and we are always eager to do what we can to achieve this goal.

Our goal is to provide a camp option that strives for accessibility, creates an atmosphere of respect, and portrays the value that each staff and student possesses with our actions. The specifics of this goal will be expanded upon in our curriculum section where we'll cover just how we feel we can maximize your camp experience in a way that is totally unique from any other camp available.
